BRANFORD, Conn. and LINCOLN – Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Grass) Chase, 60, died June 13, 2005, at a New Haven, Conn. nursing home after a long illness. She was born April 21, 1945, in Lincoln, the daughter of Llewellyn and Grace (Ireland) Grass. Betty graduated from Mattanawcook Academy, Class of 1963, and was a member of the Branford United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Beth Ellen Chase of Branford, Conn.; two sisters, and a brother-in-law, Darlene Grass of Branford, Conn., and Loretta and Fred Nelson of Guilford, Conn.; one nephew, Freddy and Tracy Nelson; and a niece, Missy and Andy Smith; two great nieces and three great nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Marie Chase. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Cushman officiating. Interment will be in South Lincoln Cemetery.
