HALIFAX, N.S., Canada – Elizabeth Morrison Ozmon, 64, died unexpectedly May 14, 2006, in Halifax, N.S. She was born May 18, 1941, in Bangor, the daughter of Raymond H. and Eva (Griffin) Morrison. Elizabeth grew up in Bangor, graduated from Bangor High School, and the University of Maine at Orono in 1968. She served in the U.S. Air Force where she met and married her first husband, Frank Vecchio. After a tragic plane crash that claimed the life of her husband, Betty returned to Bangor with her infant daughter, Angela. She later met and married Kenneth L. Ozmon. She then took on the responsibilities and duties of a college president’s wife in Charlottetown, P.E.I., Halifax, N.S., and Sackville, N.B. She was looking forward to June when she would return to her home in Hammonds Plains, N.S., where she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and taking long walks. She is survived by her mother, Eva G. Morrison of Bangor; her husband, Dr. Kenneth Ozmon of Hammonds Plains, N.S.; her daughter, Kendi Ozmon Kim of Belmont, Mass.; her brothers, Hugh Morrison of Brewer, Bruce Morrison of Hancock, David Morrison of Bangor; sisters, Nancy Hodgkins of Old Town and Roberta DeLuck of Hampden; three beautiful grandchildren, Emma and Griffin Roberts of Halifax, N.S and Angela Kim of Belmont, Mass.; and a special friend, Kay DeLuck of Bangor; many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her father, Raymond H. Morrison of Bangor; and her daughter, Angela Vecchio-Ozmon (Roberts) of Halifax, N.S. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 22, in Halifax, N.S., and a private family service will be celebrated in Bangor.
