MILLINOCKET – Elizabeth Walls Kelley, died at a local nursing home on Monday, Aug. 16, 2004. She was born in Airdrie, Scotland, Jan. 25, 1908, the second child of John and Mary (O’Neill) Crawford. She graduated from Stearns High School, Class of 1925. Elizabeth was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and at the time of her death, she was the oldest living member in Maine of the Daughters of Isabella, to which she belonged to since October 10, 1927. Elizabeth was also the co-founder of the AARP, Chapter 2652 of Millinocket. She was married to her first husband, Raymond V. Walls from August of 1932 until his death on May 9, 1975. She was employed by Great Northern Paper Company for more than 41 years, where she advanced to manager of the insurance department. In 1987, she married J. Leo Kelley. She is survived by one brother, James and his wife, Kathleen of East Millinocket; two sisters, Helen Spence of Millinocket and Eileen Moscone and her husband, Alfonse, of Millinocket. She was predeceased by her second husband, J. Leo Kelley; two sisters, Mary Townsend and Marguerite Babin; and one brother, John Crawford, Jr. Elizabeth also leaves five nieces, 13 nephews, six step-children, several grandnieces and grandnephews, and a special friend, Evelyn Hallett. Friends may call at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, where Little Flower Circle, Daughters of Isabella will recite the Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
