MILLINOCKET – Ella Jane Bears, 88, died Dec. 29, 2004, at a local healthcare facility. She was born on Oct. 26, 1916, in Patten a daughter of Harry and Nola (Sargent) Boynton. Ella moved to Millinocket with her family while still an infant. She graduated from Stearns High School Class of 1936. She was an avid golfer at Hillcrest Golf Club for many years winning several club championships. Her husband, George “Gid” Bears died in 1975. She was also predeceased by a sister, Mildred Bears; and a brother, Arnold Boynton. Ella is survived by her children, Charles and wife, Carol Bears, of Hebron, N.H., Jan and husband, Andy Guida, of Montgomery Village, Md., and William and wife, Nancy Bears, of Millinocket. Ella really loved her four grandsons, Josh, Jared, and Nate Bears all of Millinocket and Christopher Guida of Virginia; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Cole Guida of Virginia; three brothers, Dr. Harold Boynton and Robert Boynton both of Millinocket and Dr. Richard Boynton of Raymond; two sisters, Olive Pound of Augusta; and Geraldine Fraser of Falmouth Foreside. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where services will follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Lance Almeida will officiate.
