MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Ellen G. (Colson) (McPherson) Gehrke went home with the Angels on Dec. 16, 2003, at 68 years. Ellen retired from Milwaukee County Register of Deeds. She was also a published author and artist under the pen name of Prudence Malloy. Loving wife of the late Lt. Col. James M. Gehrke; cherished mother of Dorothea (Robert) Cook, Katherine (Mark) Wilberg, the late Diana Lynn McPherson and Staff Sergeant Dea McPherson; proud Nana of Mike and Chris Cook and Jimmy and Jennifer Wilberg; adored daughter of Katharine Woodward (the late Leonard); sister of James (Ellen) Colson, Gifford (Sylvia) Colson, Judy (Rick) Nickerson; the late LeRoy Betters and Lewis Betters; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
