CLIFTON – Elmer Charles Ward, 75, husband of Deanna (Eldridge) Ward, passed away quietly in his sleep Feb. 1, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Greenville Junction, the son of Arthur H. and Nellie (Larrabee) Ward. Elmer was known as “Cy” by family and friends, a nickname given to him by his father. Cy was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He found peace and contentment at Springy Pond, where he loved to fish and watch his wife fish. He grew up in Greenville Junction, where he had many friends that called themselves the “Brady Gang.” Surviving in addition to his wife of Clifton are one brother, Philip G. Ward of Greenville Junction; one sister, Madeline (Ward) Jordan and her husband, Harold, of Milford, N.H.; an aunt, Frances Bryant of Greenville Junction; three children, Arthur Ward and his wife, Marlene, of Bangor, Lynda Baldwin and her husband, Joe, of Garland and Martha Corliss and her husband, Steve, of Corinna.
