HAMPDEN – Elsie B. (Sides) Tyler, 75, died peacefully Feb. 21, 2005, at her home. She was born April 7, 1929, in Sherman Mills, the daughter of Montelle William Sides and Gladys (James) Sides. She graduated from Sherman High School and Husson College. She worked for many years at Tek Bearing Co., in Brewer, and in a variety of positions in the Bangor area thereafter. She was a member of the local chapter of Altrusa International and until recent years was active in the Riverside Grange. She was predeceased by her husband, John M. Tyler; and a daughter, Beverly A. Tyler. She is survived by her sons, Donn Tyler of Marion, Mass.; and James Tyler of Bangor; three grandchildren, Shannon D. Tyler of Somerville, Mass., and Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Tyler and Benjamin Tyler, both of Bangor. She is also survived by a brother, Harry Sides of Hartland; a sister, Natalie Jane Sides of Wolcott, Conn.; and a dear sister-in-law, Dorothy Sides of Bangor; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, Chaplin of Husson College, officiating. Interment will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
