MILLINOCKET – Emma C. Albert, 91, died peacefully at her home, Sunday, June 27, 2004, with her family by her side. She was born June 21, 1913, in East Boston, Mass., the daughter of William and Margaret (Jacobs) Hock. During her school years, she worked in her father’s bakery. After graduating from Fr. Fitton Notre Dame High School, she went to work for the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Boston, Mass. Emma met her future husband, John Albert, while attending an Irish dance in Boston. She married John on Nov. 25, 1940. They moved to Millinocket in 1944 when John was discharged from the U.S. Army. She was a member of the Millinocket Emblem Club, the Plus and Minus Club, AARP, and the Bangor Singles Club. Emma enjoyed socializing with her many friends at Meals for Me. She was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 1953; a son, William in 1963; two brothers, Robert and William; three sisters, Dorothy, Helen, and Florence; and a very dear friend, Frank E. Rush. She is survived by three daughters, Rosalie Tubbs and husband, Peter, of Windham, Donna York and husband, Calvin, of Millinocket, and Lynn Smith McLaughlin of Bangor; a sister, Mary Capone of Everett, Mass.; three grandchildren, Tammy Moody, William York, and Shawn Smith; three step-grandchildren, Holly, Lee, and Scott Tubbs; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special family friend, Mary Ann Carter. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket from. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at the funeral home.
