WINTERPORT and LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – Eric R. Dodge, 61, passed away Nov. 1, 2005, formally of Winterport and Long Island, N.Y. He was born May 23, 1944, in Bangor, son of David T. and Gertrude E. Dodge, formally of Winterport and Long Island, N.Y. Eric was known for his passion for life’s simple pleasures; he enjoyed fishing, reading, spending time with his beloved grandchildren, the telling of tales some to believe and others to be questioned. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marines and a Veteran of the Vietnam War and will be missed by his lifetime Marine friends, Roy Busse, Harvey Yeager, Ed Campbell and Dick Gerber. Eric is predeceased by his wife, Angela Dodge; and his parents. He is survived by his brother, Brian Dodge and wife, Pamela, of Farmington; sisters, Suzanne Anderson of Gorham, Paulette Dodge of Portland, Roberta Silva and husband, David, of Bucksport and Rachel DiZoglio and husband, Ben, of Hudson, N.H.; his aunt, Priscilla Dodge, of Dixmont; stepdaughter, Denise Baker and husband, Joe; granddaughter, Brittney Roell; grandson, Dillon Roell of Florida. Eric will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Memorial service and burial will be 10 a.m. Nov. 14, at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, Long Island, N.Y.
