TRENTON – Erna Alley Gerry, 83, died July 18, 2004, in Trenton. She was born June 6, 1921, daughter of Ludwig Laulies and Emmit Geborene, in Germany. She was owner and operator of Erna’s German Motel, of Salisbury Cove. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellsworth, was a former member of Bar Harbor and Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by her husband, Bernard E. Gerry Jr. of Trenton; a son, Gary Ronald and his wife, Joanne Alley, of Rockhill, S.C.; a daughter, Evelyn Alley Foss and husband, Lester, of Scarborough; five stepdaughters, Margaret Boxold of Springfield, Mass., Judith Zucco and husband, Pete, of Old Saybrook, Conn., Elizabeth Kimsey and husband, Michael, of Bangor, Susan Oliver and husband, James, of Baileyville, Terese Peterson and husband, Michael, of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Michael Johson and Timothy Johnson of Marietta, Ga., Russell Farren and Joseph Farren of Scarborough, Gary Ronald Alley Jr. of Rockhill, S.C., Lynn Marie Glasscock of Rockhill, S.C., Michelle Piotruski of Cambridge, Mass., Joseph Zucco and Susan Zucco of Old Saybrook, Conn., Ashley Oliver of Baileyville, Gerry Mimsey of Bangor, and Collin Kimsey of Bangor; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Altman of Rockhill, S.C., Lauren Alley and Kate Alley of Rockhill, S.C., and Jacob Lee Johnson of Atlanta, Ga. She was predeceased by her first husband, Major Ronald E. Alley. Friends are invited to call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ellsworth, with Bishop Joseph Gerry officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Town Hill.
