MILLINOCKET, FRANKFORT, and DURHAM, Conn. – Ernestine Priscilla “Pat” (Albert) Lewis, 79, wife of the late Bernard C. Lewis, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Westgate Manor, Bangor. She was born July 13, 1927, in East Millinocket, a daughter of Ernest and Alma (Chasse) Albert. Pat grew up in and attended Millinocket schools, graduating from Stearns High School, Class of 1944. A resident of Frankfort for 27 years, Pat’s strong faith in God and participation in a prayer group with her good friends, Doris Tripp, Cecilia Tripp, Mildred Baker, Ruth Stone and others from the Frankfort community had helped lift her and carry her through the illness of her husband, Bernard and throughout her own lengthy illness. Pat had served as the Frankfort town historian for many years, writing several books about local sites and history of the area. Pat also taught guitar and played her guitars and sang for all who would listen. She sang with the Connecticut Chapter of the Sweet Adelines for several years. Music was the true love of her life. She is survived by her son, Vernon Lewis of Vermont; and her daughter, Linda Kestenbaum and her husband, Leslie, of Connecticut; her grandsons, Aaron Kestenbaum and his wife, Amy, and Matthew Kestenbaum; her brother, Lewellyn Albert and his wife, Ellen, of Florida; three sisters, Sylvianne Haines of Millinocket, Joanne LaFontaine of Middle-town, Conn., and Carol Gullo-Jones and her husband, Robert, of Meriden, Conn.; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Alan Albert. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Westgate Manor, Bangor, for providing the very best nursing care and for their compassion and warmth not only to Pat, but to our family and friends. Her family will receive relatives and friends 2-3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at the Bouchard-Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
