EASTON – Ervin Victor Boxwell, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. He was born Aug. 26, 1925, at Ashland, the son Albert and Mabel (Kennedy) Boxwell. All knew Ervin as Ben. Ben served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Pine Tree Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for several years, and a member of the VFW Post 6187 in Fort Fairfield. Ben was a very hard worker, a loving dad, and a good friend to all that knew him. Ben was quite the fisherman. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (Lint) Boxwell July 21, 2002; a daughter, Dorothy Thibodeau; and an infant son, Robert; two brothers, Hubert and Burton; and a sister, Mavis. He is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Wendell Monson of Fort Fairfield, Grace and Ellis Oakes of California Settlement, N.B., Canada, Nancy and Kerry Hall of Bridgeville, Del., Janet Russell of Tillson, N.Y.; two sons and their wives, Ervin Albert and Sandra Boxwell of Woodland, and Donald and Sandy Boxwell of Easton; five sisters, Inez McEachern, Hazel Lafland, Loena Sutherland, all of Ashland, Avis LaClerc of Caribou and Merritta Hicks of Blaine; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastors Carlos da Cruz and Andy DeRier officiating. A military committal service will be held in the spring at Pine Tree Cemetery, Easton.
