BANGOR – Ethel L. Blanchard, 83, died July 5, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Bangor, the daughter of Leamon and Ida (Fletcher) Hamm. Ethel was a member of the Bangor Garden Club, and a member of the AUW Gild of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Bangor. Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Elaine of Bangor, and Theresa Daly and her husband, Charles, of Levant; one son, Paul Blanchard Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Fitzburg, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Annie Allen of Hudson; many nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Paul Blanchard; one son, Sherwood Blanchard; grandson, Sean Daly; sister, Mildred Sprague; five brothers, Alton, Leamon, Walter, Herbert, and Arthur. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Elaine Beth Peresluha, pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Bangor, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
