BIDDEFORD and ELLS-WORTH – Ethelyn Libby Hill, 94, wife of the late Arnold Hill, died March 27, 2006, at an Ellsworth healthcare center. She was born May 8, 1911, in Biddeford, to Max and Catherine Libby. Ethelyn attended Gorham Normal School. She spent most of her years teaching elementary students in the Biddeford-Saco school systems. She served on many committees and strived to be innovative with her ideas. Being with children and enriching their lives was an important part of her life. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and attended the United Baptist Church of Saco. Ethelyn spent the last part of her life struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. She was always of good humor and had a smile on her face. Ethelyn is survived by her son, Alan Hill and his wife, Bonnie, of Ellsworth; grandson, Thomas Hill of Old Orchard Beach; sister-in-law, Addie Miner of Plano, Texas; and several nephews and nieces, Roger Libby and his wife, Lynn, of Plano, Texas, Robert Libby and his wife, Carol, of Hanson, Ky., Preston Libby and his wife, Maryanne, Stanley Brown and his wife, Linda, of Massachusetts and Marcia Wooten and her husband, Landrum, of Manlius, N.Y. Visiting hours will be noon- 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. A funeral service at 2 p.m. will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
