HAMPDEN – Eugene “Gene” W. Marden, 75, died Nov. 13, 2007, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 14, 1931, in Winterport, the only child of Eugene D. and Mildred (Smith) Marden. Gene was a graduate of Winterport High School. He was employed as a draftsman by the former Grenci and Ellis of Frankfort. He then worked for Bancroft and Martin, Brewer, until he started his own business, Marco Drafting Inc. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 54 years, Arline of Hampden; and four children, Raylene Marden of California, Perry Marden and his wife, Theresa, of Winterport, Michael Marden and his wife, Pamela, of Hampden, and John Marden and his wife, Daphne, of Alabama. Gene was the beloved grandfather to grandchildren, Shilo and Kent Burnham of Kansas, Jeremiah Marden of Indiana, Jordan Marden of Bar Harbor, Chad Marden of Orrington, Chase Marden and Clay Marden, both of Hampden, Zachary Marden and Amanda Marden, both of Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Burnham and Madison Marden; his uncle, Arnold Gray and his wife, Phyllis, of Frankfort; several cousins. Services will be private.
