EUNICE T. MONACO MILLINOCKET – Eunice Theresa Monaco died at a Bangor hospital on Friday, Dec. 26, 2003. She was born March 31, 1918, in Millinocket on the daughter of Donato and Orsolina (DiGiovanni) Monaco. Eunice was a lifelong resident of Millinocket, where she was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Many residents of Millinocket will remember Eunice for the 30-plus years that she worked at the former Millinocket Water Co. Eunice was an avid reader and participated in cooking and baking for the many different civic and church functions. She was a very meticulous homemaker and although she had no children of her own, Aunt Eunie was a special aunt to her nieces and nephews. She is survived by one nephew, Danny Hinse of East Millinocket; four nieces, Mary Catherine Hinse of Lincoln, Sheila DiCentes, Caroline Ayer, and Linda Leavitt, all of Millinocket. She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Restant “Peck” and Percy Monaco; two sisters, Adelia Monaco and Gloria Hinse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Spring burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
