BANGOR – Evelyn Ada Violette, 94, went to be with her Savior Oct. 19, 2007, at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Penobscot, the daughter of Olin and Ada Gray. Evelyn had a great passion for cooking, knitting and crocheting. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Coffin of Bangor and Eleanor Knowlton of Levant; one son, Lawrence Mixer of Newfoundland, Canada; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Evelyn will be sadly missed by all. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John W. Violette July 29, 2001; two brothers and one sister, Jack, Bernard and Lila. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Maynard Lane officiating.
