WORCESTER, Mass., and MADAWASKA – Evelyn E. Robinson, 97, died March 28, 2008, at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester, Mass., where she had resided since 2003. She was born Feb. 23, 1911, in St. John, the daughter of Registe and Olive (Michaud) Jalbert. Mrs. Robinson received degrees from the University of Maine and the University of Hartford. She was a teacher of English and mathematics, who excelled in her fields for 45 years. She was renowned for helping all students achieve their greatest potential in life. Her teaching career began in 1934 in Fort Kent, continued in Madawaska and Bristol, Conn., to conclude more than four decades later at Worcester State College, where she eventually became chair of the Mathematics Department from 1970 to1977. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, Worcester, Mass., where she served as lector. Mrs. Robinson leaves two sons, Brother Robert Robinson of St. Joseph’s Abbey, Spen-cer, Mass., and James Robinson of Simi Valley, Calif. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Walter in 1954; and by a son, Carl Joseph in 1949. Visiting hours will be 9:45-10 a.m. March 31 at Notre Dame du Lac Chapel, 555 Plantation St., Worcester, Mass., where a Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. the same day with a reception after. Burial will be in Madawaska.
