PALMYRA – Evelyn S. Dow, 74, died unexpectedly Dec. 7, 2006, at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Easton, the daughter of Kenneth and Anna (Hayden) Stevenson. She was employed for more than 20 years at Farm Credit Service, Newport, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Newport, where she printed the weekly bulletin for many years. She was a member of the Nokomis Chapter No. 42, Order of the Eastern Star, Newport. Evelyn is survived by her children, Katrina Graves and fiance, Barry Sheffield, of Exeter, Lorrie and husband, Russ Hamlin, of Kenduskeag, Dennis and wife, Wanda Dow, of Newport; three grandchildren, Heather Graves, Heidi Gagnon and Andria Dow; five great- grandchildren, Anthony and Ashley Nichols, Christopher and Megan Gagnon, and Cole Parkinson; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Alice Killam of Palmyra and Eldora Dow of Perham. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis; and two brothers, Roy and Albert Stevenson. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Pastor Kirk Mellen officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service.
