MADAWASKA – Joel R. Cyr, 75, died unexpectedly Dec. 8, 2006, at his residence. He was born March 21, 1931, in St. David, the son of Pierre H. and Leona (Daigle) Cyr. He is survived by a special niece and nephew, Anne and Real Deschaine, who were his primary caretakers. Joel is also survived by one brother, Urbey Cyr of Frenchville; two sisters, Lucienne Pare of Augusta and Jeannine Parent of New Britain, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne (Bergeron) Cyr; four brothers, Lucien, Udo, Noel and Omer Cyr; and one sister, Anita. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. David Church. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn.
