BANGOR – Everald M. Neilsen passed away March 15, 2007, at a local hospital. Born Oct. 17, 1929, in Northview, New Bruswick, he was the son of Carl and Janie (Gallop) Neilsen. After serving in the U.S. Army in Munich, Germany, he lived in Fort Fairfield, where he was the owner and operator of Neilsen’s Barber and Beauty Salon. He later worked as an immigration officer with the U.S. Department of Justice. He moved to Bangor in 1986. He was a member of the Anah Temple Shrine, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Benjamin Masonic Lodge No. 31, American Legion, 50-year certificate of continuous membership, Aroostook Barbers’ Association, New England Business-man’s Association, Inc., chairman of the board and member of various committees of United Parish Church, Fort Fairfield. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Kyle); granddaughter, Erin Locke; three brothers and three sisters. He was predeceased by a daughter, Char-lene S. Locke; and a sister. Family and friends of Everald are invited to a committal service 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Arrangements in care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home.
