OAKFIELD – Everett Howard Boutilier Sr., 82, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Oakfield, the son of Wendell and Gladys (Parker) Boutilier. Everett worked for the B & A Railroad for 25 years and later opened a small engine repair shop. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post No. 52. He spent many years as a volunteer with the Oakfield Fire Department. What he enjoyed most was having his children and grandchildren around him. He liked spending time at Spaulding Lake with all the Boutiliers, Swallows and Crandalls. He also enjoyed many years of going to the harness races and snow sledding with his wife’s family, the Lawlor clan. Everett was a great husband and father who was always ready to take the family for a boat ride or on a picnic, even after working hard all day on the railroad. We would be waiting on the steps and he would be happy to go and enjoy every minute of it. Dad found pleasure in so many things, such as working on the land with a chain saw, a garden hoe, or a good tractor. Fishing, boating, or raising a great patch of pumpkins were favorite things to do. He also enjoyed the company of many dear friends and his very special cat, Frankie. Everett is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathleen (Lawlor); three children, Karen and her husband, Roland Kennedy, Loraine and her husband, Richard Crandall and Everett Jr. and his wife, Sandy; eight grandchildren, Spencer Bragan and his wife, Tricia, Sheldon Bragan, Lloyd Bragan, Susan Crandall and her husband, Eric Fletty, Katie Crandall and her husband, Thomas Liba, Andrew Crandall, Evan Boutilier and Ben Boutilier; two great-grandchildren, Miranda and Chance Bragan; and other family members, Paul Bragan and his wife, Kathy; two brothers, Leonard Boutilier and his wife, Anne and Dale Boutilier and his wife, Marlene; five sisters, Jean Crandall, Joyce Hersey, Donna Hersey and her husband, Leroy, Lois Somers and her husband, Cecil, and Janet Harvey and her husband, Waldo; two brothers-in-law, Billy Lawlor and his wife, Harriet, and Kenneth Lawlor and his wife, Belen; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Harvey and her husband, Wallace, and Marlene Lawlor.
