OTTER CREEK – Everett Nelson Walls, 82, died Aug. 31, 2005, at a Bar Harbor healthcare facility. He was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Otter Creek, the son of Samuel M. and Emma Torrey (Albee) Walls. His first job was cutting ice. He worked at Crobb Box and caddying at the local golf course. Everett worked for the Town of Mt. Desert, Donald Smith Landscaping and Miller Gardens. Everett enjoyed lobstering and fishing. During the war he raised five victory gardens and he fought the fire of 1947. His most enjoyable thing to do was talk to the people about the history of Otter Creek. He is survived by two sisters, Elsie Walls and Anita Merchant, both of Otter Creek; many nieces and nephews and cousins. Everett comes from a family of nine. He was predeceased by four sisters, Gladys, Melinda, Evelyn Saccone, Otilda Frances Conners Dodge; two brothers, Austin E. Walls and Samuel L. Walls. Friends are invited to call 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor, where funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Otter Creek Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at 57 Otter Creek Drive, following the service.
