INDIAN ISLAND – Faye A. Norwood, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility after a brief illness. Faye was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Rockland, the daughter of the late Alvin A. Norwood of Bass Harbor and Frances Sapiel Norwood Currier of Indian Island. Faye enjoyed being with her family, playing Michigan Rummy and shopping at the mall. Her favorite pastimes included calling Pammy and night crawling, night-hawking. She enjoyed receiving little gifts and showing off all her “blings.” She was predeceased by two sisters, Ramona Ranco and Jaqueline Nelson; one brother, Richard Norwood; and one son, Vincent Norwood of Indian Island. She is survived by her daughter, Pammy and husband, Rino Michaud, of Indian Island; four grandchildren, Dawn Kepple, Travis Michaud, Carissa Holmstrom and Jared Norwood; six great-grandsons; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting hours were held 5-9 p.m. Friday, May 16, at St. Ann’s Church, Indian Island. A funeral Mass will be held 8 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at St. Ann’s Church. Memorial contributions in Faye’s memory may be made to Dr. Eunice Nelson-Baumann Home Assisted Living Center, Sarah Springs Road, Indian Island, ME 04468. The family also wants to give special thanks to the staff there for all the patience and loving care provided to Faye.
