CARIBOU – Ferdinand Clifford Joseph Cyr, 73, husband of the late Marion (Sirois) Shorey Cyr, died unexpectedly, Oct. 14, 2005, in Bangor. He was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Caribou, the son of John and Alberta (Ouellette) Cyr Sr. He was educated in the Holy Rosary School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ferdinand was employed at Birdseye Division of General Foods and McCain’s as a mechanic welder. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was also a member of the Fred B. Brescia Council Knights of Columbus and the Van Buren American Legion. He was a devoted husband and father to his family and was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He is survived by two sons, Mark J. Cyr and Lori, and Kirk A. Cyr and wife, Kathleen, of Caribou; daughter, Lisa A. Sczuroski and husband, Timothy, of Presque Isle; stepdaughter, Betty L. (Sirois) McNeal and husband, Lynn, of Caribou; one brother, John Cyr and wife, Irene, of New Sweden; two sisters, Blanche Leggee and husband, Warren, of Raynham, Mass. and Laurine Norton of Sutherlin, Ore.; grandsons, Derek Sczuroski and Chad McNeal; granddaughter, Kerri McNeal; great- grandchildren, Riley and Abbiegale, Griffen McNeal; step-grandchildren, Chris, Jessica and Lyndsay and Kody. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou. <
