CARIBOU – Fern Guerrette, 86, wife of Lawrence Guerrette, died Jan. 2, 2007, in Caribou. She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Ashland, the daughter of George and Amanda (Theriault) Bushey. Mrs. Guerrette was a 1939 graduate of Ashland High School and married Lawrence Guerrette Jan. 2, 1943. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a number of years. After she and Lawrence moved to Caribou from the family farm, she attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 64 years, Lawrence of Caribou, are one son and daughter-in-law, Roland and Olga Guerrette of Orrington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Galen Thompson of Caribou, Susan and Frank Juliano of Scarborough and Florida and Brenda and Steven Sperry of Woodland; one brother, Gerald Bushey of Ashland; one sister, Maxine Young of Illinois; seven grandchildren, Karen Conroy, Krista Johnson, Craig Olmstead, Robyn and Terry Guerrette and Scott and Jason Sperry; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob and Sadie Conroy, Sam and Sarah Johnson, Emma and Paige Sperry, Dylan Sperry, Amanda Olmsted and Jessica Guerrette; one great-great-granddaughter, Alana Pelletier; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Guerrette was predeceased by a brother, Larry; and a sister, Mabel Devoe. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Thanh Nguyen, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Guerrette may do so through the charity of ones’ choice. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Caribou Nursing and Rehab for all of the fine care and concern shown Fern and her family throughout the past five years.
