NEWINGTON, Conn., and ST. AGATHA – Fernand Plourde, 82, died April 27, 2004, at the John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, Conn. He was born in St. Agatha, the son of the late Fred and Modeste (Raymond) Plourde. He moved to Connecticut in 1960. In 1967, he was co-founder of M & P Pipe Jack Co., where he served as a principal until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Agatha Church. An avid fisherman, he spent most of his retirement years in St. Agatha, boating, fishing on Long Lake. Mr. Plourde is survived by his wife of 62 years, Yvette (Ayotte) Plourde; his son, Maurice Plourde and his wife, Carol Plourde, of Newington, Conn.; three daughters, Rita Wilkinson of Bristol, Conn., Greta Plourde of Bristol, Conn., and Doris and her husband, Robert Beaulieu, of Glastonbury, Conn.; six grandchildren, Sharon, Donna, Janice, Kirt, Scott and Christine; six great-grandchildren, Jared, Mackenzie, Lucas, Garrett, Matthew and Joseph; a brother, Gilbert Plourde of Plainville, Conn.; two sisters, Lucille Gendreau of Grand Isle, Azilda Nadeau of Plainville, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sons, Gerald “Stanley,” Clayton and James; and 14 brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at St. Agatha Church.
