SUN CITY, CALIF. – Fidele Richards, 82, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Hemet Valley Medical Center, Hemet, Calif. The son of Edmond and Maude Richards, he was born June 7, 1922, in Caribou. He served in the U.S. Army Corp during World War II and Korea and retired from the U.S. Air Force after approximately 20 years of service. Mr. Richards is survived by his son, Michael Richards of Hemet, Calif.; daughter, Michelle C. Richards of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Mary Hunt of Staceyville, Marjorie Ellis of Monson, Yvonne Hastey of Hodgeton Mills, Frances Ericson of Monson and Cecile Dickinson of Millinocket. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Weston, Barrett and Darcie Richards of California, and Meghan Wood of Nevada; one great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by a special cousin, Edna Butler and many other friends from Shoal’s Harbor, Newfoundland. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Rhea (Butler) Richards; brothers, Edmond, John and William Richards; and sister, Goldie Lufkin. He was buried at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif. on Aug. 25, 2004. The family requests that donations be made in his name to your local animal shelter or humane society.
