MILLINOCKET – Flora B. Cheney, 91, wife of the late Hubert T. Cheney, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Millinocket Regional Hospital, after a long and full life. She was born Dec. 19, 1915, in Millinocket, the daughter of T. Stanley and Lucretia M. (White) Bradley. Flo was educated in the Millinocket school system and was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1933. She worked in the Millinocket school system as secretary to the superintendent of schools, until her retirement. Flo was a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Millinocket and also AARP, Millinocket. Flo is survived by two daughters, Margaret Bond and her husband, Stephen, of Millinocket and Joyce Weber and her husband, William, of Canton, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Andrew Bond and his wife, Melanie, Sarah Phinney and her husband, Scot, Matthew Weber and his wife, Liria, Alison Weber, Naomi Cheney, Eric Cheney and Shelley Sherburne and her husband, Donald; three great-grandchildren, Samuel Weber, and Sabrina and Anthony Sherburne; a sister, Sister Mary Helen, C.S.M. Greenwich, N.Y.; two nieces, Dorothy Baron and Carol Diters; two nephews, Thomas and David Nisbett; and many extended family members. Flo will also be missed by a special niece, Jane Baron. In addition to her husband, Flo was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Bisson; two sisters, Dorice Nisbett and Nina Baron; and a nephew, Robert Nisbett. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A celebration of Flo’s life will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 40 Highland Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Amelia Hagen, interim rector, celebrant.
