FLORENCE J. BECKER CALAIS – Florence J. Becker “Flo,” died Dec. 23, 2003, at her home following a long illness. She was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Leeds, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Paradis) Cryan. Florence was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church of Calais and a member of the Ladies Sodality of the church. She was a member of the Calais Hospital Auxiliary and the St. Croix International Garden Club. She is predeceased by a brother, Louis Cryan. Surviving are her husband, Fred Becker of Calais; one son, Steven Becker of Littleton, N.H.; two daughters, Carolyn Ann Natale of Manchester, N.H., Cindy Blodgett of Charleston; one brother, Urbain Cryan of Wolfville, N.S.; four sisters, Gertie Dubriel and Edna Cryan, both of Montreal, Rose Cryan of Kentville, N.S., Stella Burnham of Kitchener, Ontario; one grandchild, Justine Blodgett of Dover-Foxcroft; one great-grandchild, Trista Allen. Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 8 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Calais with the Very Rev. Mark Nolette celebrant. Following the Mass a reception for family and friends will be in the Rev. Andrew J. Arseneau Parish Hall. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Society of PSP. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
