OAKFIELD – Floyd C. “Bubba” Shields Sr., 63, died Oct. 5, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. Floyd was born April 19, 1941, in Oakfield, the son of Floyd and Ethel (Davis) Shields. He was a commercial fisherman for many years in Florida. He was a member of the Knowles Corner Four Wheeler Club where he was an assistant trail master and a member of the Free Wheeler Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and wildlife. He is survived by two sons, Floyd Jr. of Ocala, Fla. and Adam of Pawtucket, R.I.; two daughters, Angelique Margison of Littleton, April of Stonington; three sisters, Mary Grant and special friend, Christie, of Island Falls, Linda White and her husband, Pete, of Greenville, N.C., Sharon Lilley and special friend, Dennis, of New Limerick; two brothers, Dennis and his wife, Pam, of Smyrna Mills, Philip of Smyrna Mills; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; also a special mention of Sylva Jo Gallagher and friend Audi Horn; fishing buddies, Alisha MacIntyre and Steven Silvia. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Ethel and Floyd Shields; and nephew, Jonathan Anderson. Floyd enjoyed attending all local sports games and was Clarissa’s No. 1 fan. He will be remembered by the Round Table Coffee Clutch at Brenda’s Restaurant. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will be at Oakfield Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hemophilia Foundation of Maine, Four Wheeler Clubs or a charity of your choice, care of Bowers Funeral Home.
