OLD TOWN – Frances P. Fitzgerald, 71, wife of the late Harold Fitzgerald, died Aug. 4, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1932, in Lee, the daughter of Wallace and Hazel (Briggs) Nelson. Frances worked as a CNA at Orono Nursing Home. She is survived by three daughters, Eleanor and her husband, David White, of Alton, Donna Fitzgerald and her companion, Wayne Lavoie, of Greenbush, Karen and her husband, Stephen Ketch, of Passadumkeag; three sons, Edward Fitzgerald of West Enfield, Andrew Fitzgerald and his wife, Charlotte, of Milford, Douglas Fitzgerald and his wife, Jeanette, of Old Town; four sisters, Linda Upton of Bangor, Pamela Bisson of Connecticut, Charlotte Godbyr of Lincoln, Priscilla Doane of Naples, Fla.; three brothers, Wallace Nelson, Frederick Nelson, Melville Lancaster, all of Connecticut; six grandchildren; and a special friend, Harold Keene and her dog, Scooter. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Priscilla Fitzgerald; and brother, Douglas Nelson. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Brookings-Smith, Old Town Chapel, 205 Main St., where funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Ronald Chaffee, of the Old Town United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lee.
