BANGOR – Francesca J. Ruggieri, 94, died Feb. 6, 2008, at her residence. She was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Bangor, the daughter of Nicola and Carmela (Scammacco) Ruggieri. Fran graduated from John Bapst High School, St. Joseph’s College and the University from Maine with a double masters’ degree. She taught for many years and had worked at the library at the Orono campus of the university until recently. She will be greatly missed by her many friends at Orono. She was a lifelong communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, a former member of the parish council and women’s council. She is survived by three brotherS, Donald Rogers of Cape Cod, Mass., Nate Rogers of Raymond and anthony Rogers of Brewer; a special niece, Donna Tosh of Raymond; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Ron and Penny Verow of Orrington, Tom Mogan and his dog, Kyzer, of Bangor; and companion, Heather Lopez of Bangor. She was predeceased by a brother, Hugh Rogers. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will be held after in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
