OLD TOWN – Francis A. Costigan Sr., 61, died unexpectedly May 25, 2006, at his residence. He was born June 8, 1944, in Old Town, the son of Elna (Nichols) Parlin and William A. E. Costigan. Francis married Linda Dubay Aug. 1, 1964. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge of Old Town, the American Legion Post of Orono, and Ironworkers Local 496. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Linda; two sons, Francis Costigan Jr. of Bangor, Brad Costigan of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Tracey Tranten and her husband, Harold, of Madison; “Bampy” had two very special grandchildren, Colby and Corey Tranten, both of Madison; one half sister, Lorraine Howe of Old Town. Francis was predeceased by both parents. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
