HAVERHILL, Mass – Mr. Francis E. McCluskey, 87 of Haverhill, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at his daughter’s home in Hempstead, N.H. He was born in Haverhill, Mass. Mr. McCluskey moved to Baileyville (Woodland), Maine as a child and attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Baileyville VFW and American Legion and Saint James the Greater Parish. Mr. McCluskey was employed as a finisher in the local paper mills of Baileyville and retired from Georgia-Pacific in 1979. A resident of Haverhill since 1999, he had briefly lived in Hempstead, N.H. and also was a resident of Bangor, from 1988 until 1996. He enjoyed playing cards. He was the husband of M. Louise (Kelly) McCluskey, who died in 1979. He is survived by a son, John J. McCluskey and his wife, Terri, of Goochland, Va.; three daughters, Linda Cooper and Suzanne Gonzalez, of Haverhill, Mass. and Betsy McCluskey and her companion, Robert Davis, of Hempstead, N.H; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Patrick E. McCluskey. A Memorial Mass will be held noon Wednesday, at St. James the Greater Church, Baileyville (Woodland). Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville. A reception will be held following the burial at the Spednic Club, Baileyville. Memorial donations may be made to the Eldercare Fund of Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, 360 Merrimack St., Building 5, Lawrence, MA.
