HOWLAND – Francis M. Sereyko, 93, husband of Stella M. (McLaughlin) Sereyko, died June 22, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Howland, the son of Ignacy and Barbara (Kazilionis) Sereyko. Francis had served the town of Howland as a selectman and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He owned and operated Sereyko’s Store for 23 years. He loved to hunt and fish, and received his moose permit at the age of 92. He loved to play cribbage. He was a dedicated Red Sox fan, and was delighted to see them win the World Series. In addition to his wife, Stella, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Richard D. and Mary Lou Sereyko of Howland and Francis Dale and Laura Sereyko of Enfield; three daughters and their husbands, Joan and Phil McPhail of Lowell, Jean and John Neel of Howland and Linda and Frank Bartron of Boca Raton, Fla.; a very special person to the family, Gregory Swett, and special camp neighbors, Joe and Vicki Nesin; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven brothers, Alexander, John, Stanley, Alphonse, George, Kenneth and Henry. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Leo Catholic Church, with the Rev. Andre Houle presiding. Interment will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, West Enfield.
