MILLINOCKET – Francis “Mickey” Michaud, 87, entered into rest Saturday, April 1, 2006, at a local healthcare center. He was the beloved husband of the late Winona (Davis) Michaud. Mr. Michaud was born June 27, 1918, in Houlton, to the late George and Stella (Wilson) Michaud. He was a World War II Veteran, serving with his National Guard unit overseas. While there, he earned the rank of corporal. After his honorable discharge, Mr. Michaud returned to the Katahdin Region employed with the B & A Railroad as a rail car inspector. Since his retirement, he has been a past commander and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Michaud is survived by his children, Arthur Michaud of Millinocket and Debbie Bissell and her husband, Bob, of Bangor. He also leaves his grandchildren, Brandi, John and Ashley Michaud, Roxanne Boudreau and husband, Andy, Brett McCafferty and wife, Jen, Devon McCafferty and wife, Marci, Alicia Bissell and Matthew Bissell; and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Michaud is predeceased by his wife, Winona Michaud in 1993; one infant daughter, Caroline Ann Michaud; three brothers and five sisters. Friends are invited to greet the family 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 3, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Richard Waller officiating. Spring burial will follow in Millinocket Cemetery.
