GREENVILLE – Frank E. Clapp Jr., 88, died Feb. 17, 2008, at his home, of colon cancer. He was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Moose River, son of Frank and Arria Belle (Kimball) Clapp Sr. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines. Frank belonged to American Legion Post No. 94. He was a jack-of-all-trades, hauling logs in the Greenville area and was a cabinetmaker for De-Lar Inc., Lewiston. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Bertha (Guerrette) Clapp of Greenville; four daughters, Linda Duby of Millinocket, Sharon and husband, Patrick Lane, of Augusta, Sheila and husband, Regis Bosse, of Mechanic Falls and Monica Roberts of Sangerville; a stepson, David Guerrette and wife, Judy; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and a favorite niece, Jean Fallansbee of Loudon, N.H. He was predeceased by a son, Frank E. Clapp III; two daughters and two grandsons. A gathering for family and friends will be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at the American Legion Hall, Greenville.
