BANGOR – Frank E. Paige, 56, died April 24, 2006, at a local hospital after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 9, 1950, in Augusta, the son of Elmer and Melvina (Moody) Paige. Frank served the Bangor area as a taxi driver, known as “Driver 20,” for more than 30 years employed by Town Taxi and most recently working for his nephew, Emery Foss, who owned Airport Taxi. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diane (Richardson) Paige of Bangor; one son and his fiance, Frank Paige Jr. and Nancy Schvertt of Greenbush; one daughter and her husband, Lauri, and Jeffrey Legere of Bangor; one sister and her husband, Maxine and Joseph Foss of Hampden; 12 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his two loyal dogs, Daisy and Oliver. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 27, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, pastor of the Bangor Advent Christian Church, officiating. Private interment will be held for the family at a later date.
