LEE – Frank Woodbury Shaw, 77, passed away Jan. 20, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Hersey, the son of Solomon and Ressie (Botting) Shaw. At age 15, Frank went to work as a cookee in a woods camp. He later worked on the river drive and at a sawmill. He did well as a trapper, and worked many years on a farm. He then went back to logging, and was severely injured in a logging accident. He was a woodsman at heart, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by six children, Beverly Blanchard of Strong, Solomon Shaw of Hersey, Ronald Shaw of Lagrange, Dean Shaw of Hersey, Suzanne Smith of Jay and Hazen Shaw of Lee; a sister, Doris Shaw of Patten; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
