WHITNEYVILLE – Franklin “Bub” E. Pennell, 67, passed away Jan. 26, 2008, after an extended illness. He was born Oct. 30, 1940, in Whitneyville, the son of the late Carroll and Jennie (Cox) Pennell. Bub worked for many years as a truck driver for the Maine Department of Transportation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bub was also an avid Red Sox, Patriots and NASCAR fan. Bub was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Winnifred Pennell. He is survived by his children, Pam Canney and husband, Pat, of New Hampshire, Richard “Dickie” Pennell of Whitneyville, Steven Pennell and wife, Susan, of New Hamp-shire, and Connie Sylvia and husband, Dwaine, of Machias; grandchildren, Paul Pennell, Ryan Bishop, Ricky, Jennie and Brittney Holmes, and Chris and Meaghan Pennell; great-grand-daughter, Alexis Pennell; bro-ther, Bruce Pennell and wife, Jane; and sister, Carol Ann Smith; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Visiting hours will be held 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Betty Duzen and Al Nehring. Friends are invited after the service to Whitneyville Fellowship House for a time of sharing and remembrance.
