FORT FAIRFIELD and MANCHESTER, Conn. – Franklin L. “Sonny” Chambers, 73, husband of Mrs. Myrtle (McAllister) Chambers, father of Tony L. Chambers of East Hartford, Conn., and Jennifer Winchell of Manchester, Conn., died Thursday morning, Aug. 9, 2007, at a Caribou health care facility, after an extended illness. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Lewis officiating. Interment will take place at East Center Street Cemetery, Manchester, Conn., at a later date. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the memorial service.
