CALAIS – Frederick Campbell “Ted” Hill, 85, died May 2, 2004, in Bangor. He was born Sept. 22, 1918, the son of Stephen B. and Florence B. Hill. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Scherer, and a daughter, Lynda Fossa. He was a U. S. Navy veteran who served with commendation during World War II. He was a member of the VFW and a life member of the Masonic Blue Lodge No. 46 of Calais. Ted spent most of his life in self-owned general store businesses, even after retirement. He is survived by his wife Virginia, of Calais, a brother, Frank Hill, of Pembroke, Mass., a sister, Olive Lemeiux of Waterville, a son, Steve Hill, of Calais, a daughter, Jeannie Sprague, of Westbrook, grandchildren, Tari Moholland, Darin Hill, James Hill, Craig Fossa, and Amy Sprague, and great-grandchildren, Kevin “K.C.” Moholland, and Hunter Nason. Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
