LINCOLN and HOLDEN – Frederick E. Hamm of Holden formerly of Lincoln died Sept. 26, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 2, 1924, in Lee the son of Lyman and Lena (Aldridge) Hamm. He graduated from Lee Academy and Husson College. He was a World War II veteran serving in the European Theater and was awarded three Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He was a life member of the VFW Post No. 1438 and the DAV. He was employed for 39 years by Worcester Brothers Inc. of Lincoln. In addition to his loving wife, Nellie he is survived by his son, Lyman “Skip” Hamm, and granddaughter, Jessica of Fairbanks Alaska; his daughter, Rebecca Comyns and her husband, Bruce of Ocean Springs Miss.; one sister, Evelyn Gillis of New Jersey, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Minnie Wagner, Viva Magyar, and Kathleen Dudley; one brother, Alton Hamm. Friends many call 10:30 until time of service Wednesday at the Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held at noon. A luncheon will be held following the services at St. John’s Catholic Church basement, 207 York St., Bangor. Burial will follow in the family lot Lincoln Cemetery.
