CASTINE – Dr. Gardiner E. “Greg” Gregory, 88, of Castine Road, Castine, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Anne (Church) Gregory. He was born in Standish, a son of the late Arthur E. and Mabelle S. (Linscott) Gregory. He had been a resident of Hicksville, Long Island until 1978, when he moved to Castine, and then to Wallingford several years ago. He had been employed as an educator with the Hicksville board of education for many years, was the co-founder, along with his wife Anne, of the Hicksville Gregory Museum in Hicksville, Long Island and was a member of the Castine Historical Society. He is survived by his two stepdaughters, Susan E. Palle of Tenafly, N.J. and Linda Leisentritt of Edison, N.J.; his two sisters, Patricia Warner of Elkhardt, Ind. and Jean Hart of Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment in Castine Cemetery in Castine will be private. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Hicksville Gregory Museum, Heitz Place, Hicksville, NY 11801 or to the Castine Historical Society, care of The Abbot School, 17 School St., Castine, ME 04421.
