LINCOLN – George A. Godbyr, 55, husband of Charlotte (Lancaster) Godbyr, died Feb. 4, 2006, at his home. He was born Dec. 6, 1950, in Bangor, the son of Ralph and Nora (Wakefield) Godbyr. George was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked for many years at Great Northern and more recently was a mechanic at Lee Motors. In addition to his wife, Charlotte, he is survived by two daughters, Jennie Worster and her husband, Marcus and Sheri Pelkey and Yancey Pelkey, all of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Dustin Trott, Bailey Trott, Brent Pelkey, Jesse Pelkey and Levi Pelkey; a sister, Annabell Sutherland and her husband, Eugene, of Lincoln; two brothers, Fred Godbyr and his wife, Marcia, of Pelham, N. H., Victor Godbyr and his wife, Vienna, of Lincoln; an aunt, Donna Huntley of Sherman; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James; a sister, Helen; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melville and Hazel Lancaster; brother-in-law, Douglas Nelson; sister-in-law, Frances Fitzgerald; brothers-in-law, Melville Lancaster Jr., Roger Smith and Edward Fitzgerald; and sister-in-law, Myra Nelson. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young, officiating.
