HANCOCK – George Albert Lounder, died Aug. 7, 2007, at an Ellsworth hos-pital. He was born June 18, 1919, in Hancock, the son of Chester and Agnes (Lavin) Lounder. George served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He worked as clerk of the works for various construction companies for many years. He was a member of the Union Congregational Church of Hancock. His life’s joy was caring for his family and friends. He was predeceased by his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Mildred Walker Lounder; and his two sons, George and Chester. He is survived by his loving family, Arlene Harmon and recently deceased husband, Michael, Kathleen and David Graves, Lawrence and Phyllis Lounder, Georgie and Jeffrey Haskins, Sheila and Terry Coffin; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Rita Welch. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Hancock Congregational Church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Hancock.
