ORLAND – George Amedeo Rolleston, 74, died Feb. 20, 2007, at his residence. He was born May 23, 1932, in New York City, the son of George and Jessie (Bergna) Rolleston. He attended Carmel High School, Carmel, N.Y. He attended Cornell University for one year and Tri State College, Angola, Ind. He was employed with Buick Motor Co. in Flint, Mich., for 15 years. After moving to Maine, he was employed by Kerramerican Mine, a partner in Duffy and Duffy Fiberglass Boats, Brooklin and was self-employed in accounting services. George enjoyed fishing, boating, cooking and eating with family and friends and mowing his lawns. He was a past master, and treasurer for 21 years of the Ira Berry Lodge No. 128, Blue Hill, member of Order of Eastern Star, Irene Chapter No. 97, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Bangor Lodge Council Chapter, treasurer of the Blue Hill Fire Co., member of the Hancock County Firefighters Association, director of the Hancock County Agricultural Society, Blue Hill Fair, vice-president and harness racing superintendent for more than 10 years and member of the Central Hall, South Blue Hill. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Ellsworth since 1973 and treasurer for more than 30 years. George is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, George J. and his wife, Roxanne, John A. and Guy J. Rolleston; grandchildren, Kristopher, Matthew, Christopher, Lura and Jonathan; a special nephew, Jeffrey Straughan. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, William Kurtz A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the First Congregational of Blue Hill, UCC, with the Rev.
