DOVER-FOXCROFT – George E. Dyer Sr., 87, husband of the late Maryann A. (Cowette) Dyer, died at home, May 8, 2005, after a long illness. He was born April 23, 1918, in Atkinson, the son of John and Olive Dyer. He had retired from Moosehead Manufacturing in Dover-Foxcroft. He is survived by his children, sons, Jerry, Mike, Dwight, Lawrence, Tom and Alan, all of Maine, Ben of New Hampshire and Paul of Massachusetts; daughters, Lula Pratt, Louise Aspinwall, Christine Burgess, Lorraine Cotta, Lorretta Clukey, and Kathy Pelky, all of Maine, Shirley Clark of Florida, Muriel Henderson and Deborah Hanson of Massachusetts; and Elaine Dyer of New Hampshire; one brother, Victor Dyer of Hudson, Mass.; two sisters, Madeline Decato and Jinny Smith, both of New Hampshire; 45 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at the Sweet Cemetery in Atkinson with Father Jim Robichaud, officiating.
