HODGDON – George J. Burroughs, 68, died Nov. 26, 2006, with his family at his side at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1938, in San Antonio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Burroughs. He and his wife, Christine, owned Donut Country in Houlton for 10 years and three donut shops in Texas for eight years. He had worked at Houlton International and had lived in Colorado for several years. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Christine (Faulkner) Burroughs of Hodgdon; stepdaughter, Diane Morin of Houlton; stepson, Dana and his wife, Nadine Belyea, of Hodgdon; grandchildren, Mark and Rhonda Morin, Christopher and Caitlyn, Tina Jay and Ethan, Carmen and Dale McGuire, Alyssa and Sara Fitzpatrick, Karen and Kevin LaJoie, Brian Dana, Tyler and Craig Vrieze, Kelly and Ben Jackson and Daniel Castle; brothers and sisters, Sue Shields, Doris and Charles West, Faye and Jim Flora, Russell and Stephanie Crossland, all of Devine, Texas, Pearl Taylor, Pat and Richard Keylich, Sam and Sherry Crossland, Michael and Dale Keylick, and Jimmy Shelton, all of San Antonio; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Conrad Bouchard, Ernest Gonya, Noreen Berry, David Acott and Gloria Fitzpatrick. He was predeceased by a beloved grandmother, Maude and her husband, William Baxter. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at New Limerick Freewill Baptist Church where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating.
